On the computer front...

I got the HP printer that has the tray to print on special CD/DVDs so now when creating them to ship with the book can make a professional looking product instead of basically scribbling with a magic marker. What a difference. However, it is an inkjet printer and thus have to remember not to get anything wet as it ink will run.

Over the summer while out walking around found a store that used be downtown and carried Kingston USB memory sticks other than the 2, 4 and 8 GB everybody else has in stock. They had 16 GB and 32 GB at about $42.00 and $75-85.00 so I got the 16 GB one. What a difference.

I still don't have internet at home but I see the USB sticks are being offered free with a two year contract so I may get one of those. My techno-lust is in the direction of a Bell Palm Pre these days so we shall see what develops there.

Weather-wise we've had above average temperatures since 15 Aug and the hottest day of the year was on my birthday on Tuesday. Kinda neat.

On the genealogy front, I'm publishing a book about 150 pp "In Memory of Maria Syrjanen on the Hundredth Anniversary of Her Arrival in Amerika" and sending a few copies to cousins in the US. Also, upgraded my DNA test from y-DNA-37 to y-DNA-67 and ordered the mt-DNA Mega or full genealogical sequence as FTDNA had a special on for only the U haplogroup and only if you were one who had previously ordered the mt-DNA Plus test. Changed my haplogroup from U6a1 to U6a3 and submitted the result to a study being done in Latvia. Of six other U6a3s they have I have no matches.

Need more people tested, for sure.

Cheers, Ray
